Can I bring alcohol or food to your studio anytime, or is it only on certain days? Food and drink are welcome in the studio at your table. We do not provide additional tables for food unless agreed upon for private events. (Unfortunately, we are not an event space and do not have a catering area for food.) 

If your studio is walk-in only, what happens when all the tables are full? When the studio fills up (which it typically does on weekends), we move to a restaurant-style waitlist system. You can give your name and number to the studio assistant at the counter, along with the number of people in your group, and we will call you when a table becomes available. Unfortunately, we are not able to say exactly how long the wait will be. People finish projects at their own pace, and we hate to rush the artistic process!

We have a group of (blank) people, but only one person wants to paint. Can we just sit with them while they do a project? Unfortunately, table space is limited, especially on weekends. We have a lot of people who want to paint, and we'd like to give as many of them that opportunity as we can. For this reason, we ask that the majority of every group be painting guests. For example, if you have a group of four children and two adults, and the adults want to sit and chat while the four kids they're supervising are painting, that is 100% fine! It only gets tricky for us to accommodate when there are more "supervisors" than there are painters. 

We're here to visit Grandma and want to paint, but we leave tomorrow night. Can we get our pieces back in less than 24 hours? Or do you ship?  Welcome to Columbia! We'd love to have you paint with us, but please be aware that the firing process can take up to a week. Painted pottery has to dry for at least 24 hours before being put in the kiln, and the kiln runs for 24 hours. Because of this, we are unable to guarantee rush orders, especially in less than 3 days. We can try our best to get your pieces out as quickly as possible, but if they come out after you leave, we do not offer shipping. Our advice is to have someone local in your group pick up everyone's pieces and ship them out. We are more than happy to provide shipping supplies (heaven knows we have enough bubble wrap!) to the person in charge of pickup, we just aren't able to ship items out ourselves.

I want to sign up for wheel throwing, but it looks like all of the class dates listed online have already passed. Do you have wheel throwing on (insert date here)? Our wheel throwing class schedule is based on our instructors' availability. We post our wheel throwing class dates at the beginning of each month. Usually if a date is not listed online, it means our instructors are not available that day. Check back at the beginning of next month for more dates, and we can't wait to throw with you!

I am so untalented and this really needs to impress my (fill in the blank)!  Can you do custom work?  Yes, we can custom paint items in the studio for an extra fee of $30 an hour.  We are happy to help with whatever we can.  Wedding platters?  Yep!  Engagement plates? Yep! Retirement plates? Yep! The list goes on and on.  Thanks - can I still get it by Friday? Custom orders take 2-3 weeks for completion and longer during peak order times. While your bestie in Kalamazoo has her custom artist on speed dial, our artists work on their own schedule.  

Can we rent out your entire studio for our group meeting?  We are happy to discuss rental of the studio for your group for painting or glass fusing.  This would usually occur during non-business hours and require a minimum number of artists or purchase amount. Rental of the entire studio is for over 25 guests. 

I prefer to paint at home and not in your studio.  Why can't I do that? Our studio is a contemporary pottery studio set up for the "in house" studio experience.  You may be looking for the more traditional pottery experience if you prefer to paint in your home. Some people like the movies and some people like Broadway.  We like the way our studio works for us.

I would like to bring a glittery costumed pinata carrying gorilla to my next party!  Hold on my friend!  Sadly, we do not allow pinatas (seriously? around pottery?), glitter, confetti, costumed characters, strippers or strippers named Glitter at parties.  It just does not work for us.  Trust us.  We know from past experience.  Don't ask or we will go into FULL detail.

I found this super duper antique thinga-ma-jig in my Grand mama's attic! Can you fix it for me?  Please don't trust us with anything thing your Grand mama owned!  I wouldn't trust myself with anything my Grandmother owned.  If it is truly a gift from above, try Precious Restorations in Charlotte, NC (704-965-0074).  They are pricey as all get out, but they perform miracles for your most precious pieces.  If you need glue, try E6000 which can be found at Michaels in the glue section.

What platters can I find on your menu? Is the shrimp good?  Oh, Cici!  I think you're talking about the good people of the Mad Platter in Nashville.  I get their emails all the time, especially from a certain someone's campaign when he was running for president...
